So where did I get the misguided impression that Boeing Dreamliners were supposed to have more leg room??? It was heresy. Not only were my legs incredibly cramped, but it seemed like the lady who repeatedly“whistle sneezed” behind me was practically in my ear. And talk about a plane overloaded with camaraderie. All these large tour groups that had met in Toronto needed several hours to do their meet and greet and stand in aisles. Very friendly- but when you’re try to sleep, friendly quickly becomes jarring.
Our flights were on time, tho we had a bit of a time actually landing in Tel Aviv. We nearly touched down only to suddenly take off again. I will admit I enjoyed making the guy ahead of me nervous by wondering if the landing gear had stuck or if we were being highjacked. I guess the real reason was a pokey plane on the runway.
Our only tour stop for today was Caesarea and of course a grocery store. Both invigorating. One was full of sunshine, wind, a blue, blue sea and ancient ruins, the other was full of pink shopping carts that dog trailed and seriously expensive food. It’s interesting to shop when you can’t read a single label.
And now we’re off to find our home sweet home for the next 8 or so days. And beds. And showers.
Till next time…
