A Dream Shattered

For the record, I do not want to ever live in a tiny house. I may have thought I did, but I was a little mixed up. This RV life is a pile of fun, but.

It snowed and rained off and on in the night, so Forest was truly wet in the morning. Laundromat dryer, here we come. But our spirits weren’t dampened and we all agreed it was a fantastic campsite!

Forrest says you haven’t experienced Life until you put a $20 bill into a change machine. He did his laundromat thing while the rest of us chilled in the RV and the grocery store.

Since the weather really was gross today we decided to head West again, after a quick peek over the Bighorn Canyon and grilled cheese sams in a blizzard. I chose a promising looking campsite near the Yellowstone Park entrance and off we bounced. Unfortunately the campsite was closed, but we stopped and watched a grizzly bear clawing around in the dirt for a while. That was awesome! About then the RV decided to do some lurching and bucking, and even one stall, but we’re still going so…

Eventually we found an open campground. It was a bit meh, and our camper was definitely a luxury ride compared to the others there. There was a ratty old pickup camper with two forlorn kids peering out that sorta made us shiver, but when night is falling and the camper is feeling grumpy we can’t be choosey. There was a pretty cool trail we hiked for a couple minutes, but it was cold and windy and we were happy to sit inside and finish our book. We love Forrest so much we let him sleep outside in spite of all the grizzly warnings. It’s nice to know he would rather cast his lot with vicious wildlife than spend one night with us. Needless to say i slept better than I had yet, so that doesn’t speak well for my Mother heart.
