It’s morning and the sun is already blazing on the house, slowly turning our bedroom into an oven. The roosters are crowing and I just fed the sleepy looking kitties. Heath and Matt are cooking breakfast and the world is slowly coming alive. I am hugely grateful for the mundanity of it all. Not everyone in this country is having that.
Most of us slept great. There was another major wave in the night, but Heath never even heard the sirens or the booms. I did, but was too lazy to check on it all. I did jump up and stick my head out of the window when I thought I heard the water truck, but it was just my overripe imagination.
I’ll keep you posted, but know that for now we’re safe and well and enjoying each other’s company. Even the resting has been excellent for the small babies and their smiles are getting bigger with each extra hour of sleep.
I was wondering last night what kind of cues we’d missed before coming, warning us of this attack, but then realized there probably hadn’t been any. After all, the largest Pride event in the world was happening this week in Tel Aviv, with some pretty high profile attendees. There’s no way the organizers weren’t making sure it would be safe prior to starting it. They’re of course shut down now too, and at a lot worse spot to be. Most of the missiles are aimed right at Tel Aviv. Lena is there too, but she’s ok so far as well.
