Plan B

We slept well, only interrupted by one missile attack. But it was nothing half. We are much closer to the action here, and the booms sometimes shake the ground. Also the very real threat of falling shrapnel is always on our minds.

Some of the group ended up in the shelter for a while, but by the time Heath and I got to the door it felt like it’d be safer to stay put instead of sprint across the open area. The target tonight was Haifa, so if you search Ha’on on the map you will see that we were directly in the path of the fire. AC and lots of water might be nice, but safety is nicer.

We now have plan B in action. After calling Hertz a dozen or so times, we finally found a human who was able to transfer our Hertz rental drop off location to Eilat, Israel. We plan to drive down there tomorrow, spend the night, then cross into Egypt. We have a tour company there who is arranging transport and nights for us. Jordan, who is our in house travel agent, will get us tickets home from Cairo. So that feels good.
