Cairo

It’s mid afternoon and most of us are sacked out in the hotel lobby doing things. The kids are playing, Jordan working on tickets and our personal bodyguard Hassan just finished skunking Avery and Bryce at arm wrestling before strapping on his gun and taking the three single boys on a walk. After a night and morning in the Hospital, Ray is feeling way better, and actually signed himself out and has returned to the hotel. They say he had a bad infection that led to severe dehydration. Apparently they were very kind to them in the H, giving them the VIP ICU room in the H, so they had premium care and a couch for Carol to sleep on.

We’ve sometimes wondered if any of our prayers are being heard, as Ray got sicker and sicker, roads were closed, kids got sick, and on and on. But I think we’re wrong. What could have been a 7hour wait to take the tunnel under the Suez Canal was only 30min. A clinic with super nice doctors materialized in the heart of the Sinai Desert, which made it more comfortable for Ray to travel. The people here have been beyond helpful, and while it’s still Africa and everything moves at an absolute snails pace, we are all alive and mostly doing good. Now we can work towards getting home again. Gotta catch it quick while everyone is feeling ok.
