And so our trip has dripped it’s way to an end. Literally it dripped all afternoon, not enough to soak us but enough to keep us rather damp.
The sun was shining in the morning so we struck out for the Old City and did the rest of the Rampart Walk that we hadn’t done the other day. We met a man up there from Canada who had moved to Israel eight years ago to “proclaim on the walls” as per Isaiah 62: 6-7. He seemed like any other person you would meet in business, but he had a very important message. He would stand up there and preach to people, or just the air.
From there we went to the Israel Museum and spent a couple hours wandering around. The best thing there is the model of Jerusalem from the time of Herod. It’s fascinating to see it all laid out in front of you.
Lunch was at Muhane Yehuda, a crazy busy market in Jerusalem. Like, crazy busy! It’s not really a tourist spot, more of a eating/food shopping place. It’s also covered, so that made it a perfect rainy day activity.
And then it was back for a last shot at Old City shopping, where we bartered for this and that and heard the word “corrrrona” all around us. These sellers are so funny. They use any random thing to try to make you buy. “You, because you have such a fine mustache I will make you a fine price”. “ Everything is 50% off because of…. because of…. CORONA!”
We have spent enough time at the Western Wall to notice that one man is always there, looking a bit wild and very orthodox. He strides around and then will spend a long time scrubbing his face back and forth on the wall. Like literally his face against rock. On and on and on. We finally asked the guards about him today and they said he lived there. What a miserable existence!
And now we’re in the middle of packing up and mucking out. We leave in the morning Lord and authorities willing. And that will conclude this portion of the blog. Here’s to hoping we’ll take another trip and I can use it again.

Wishing you all a happy life!
